The Flagstar Strand Theatre offers diverse and high-quality arts programming that makes a positive contribution to the image, culture, education, and economic development of Pontiac and its surrounding communities. In maintaining a historic and irreplaceable community asset as a vibrant entertainment and education center, we aim to nurture and develop creativity and an appreciation of arts and culture with a wide variety of artistic programming for Oakland County.
Strand Theatre Art (STArt) is the Flagstar Strand Theatre’s Arts Education program, offering a variety of ways to engage, educate and empower students by developing a true appreciation for arts and culture. From intensive, hands-on workshops with industry professionals to interactive performances designed to educate and enlighten audiences of all ages, the STArt program provides students from all over Oakland County with diverse, high-quality arts programming.
With two performance venues - the historic 900-seat Grand Theatre and the intimate Second @ Strand stage, the Flagstar Strand Theatre hosts a wide variety of events each year from internationally recognized touring artists, to local favorites, and performance by the Strand's very own STArt Youth Theatre company and education program.
In the summer of 2020, we added a third performance space to the venue, using our iconic marquee for a performance stage. Each summer, our Marquee Concert Series allows patrons to gather on Saginaw Street to enjoy live music, food and drinks from the Downtown Pontiac restaurants.
Each unique space is also available for rent for parties, fundraisers, corporate events, weddings and more.
With all of this under one roof in the heart of Oakland County, the Flagstar Strand Theatre truly offers something for everyone.
