About the Event

The Oakland University Jazz Band, under the direction of Tim Blackmon, will be presenting an evening of Swing and exploration into classic pieces from popular dance music. This timeless music uplifts, enlightens, and rewards first-time listeners and lifelong fans alike.

The newly formed Latin Jazz Ensemble directed by Dr. Enrique Rios-Ellis will be performing dynamic selections featuring a variety of Latin rhythms. Our repertoire celebrates the breadth of the Americas, spanning from the United States to Mexico, Cuba, and Brazil.
